We all know that Winter can be an unpleasant season, especially for your skin. The harsh Winter chill can have harsh consequences on your skin, especially if you’re not taking care of it. There really is no need to dread Winter though especially if you’re well prepared. Listed below are 5 tips to assist you with your skin health this season.
- Drink Plenty Of Water
Keeping hydrated is just as important to your inner health as to your outer and assists with cleansing your skin cells and making sure they are at their optimum levels. Be sure to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. Plain water too bland? Try adding some fresh lemon or berries for a burst of flavour & a beverage rich in antioxidants.
- Don’t Use Hot Hot Water
While the thought of a long hot shower can be especially relaxing after a long Winters day, this can be especially damaging to your skin. Hot water strips the skin of its natural oils, causing dryness, redness and in most cases itchy and irritated skin. Bathe using warm water and a hydrating body wash or soap. Our Dokimon range of washes and soaps have been carefully crafted to preserve the natural moisture of the skin.
- Use A Rich Face And Body Moisturiser
Using a rich, nourishing moisturiser will do wonders for your skin this season. Our Dokimon face cream features organic herbs of calendula, chamomile and geranium leaf teamed with organic olive oil and honey – the perfect combination to keep your skin feeling soft and hydrated all Winter long. Keeping your skin moisturised is especially important as it also helps to fight the signs of premature ageing!
- Exfoliate
A gentle exfoliant once a week will rid your skin of any dehydrated cells allowing new cell regeneration. Exfoliating regularly will also and keep your skin glowing and any budding blemishes at bay!
- Invest In A Humidifier
During Winter our heating units don’t seem to take a break whether it be at home or work. This can be particularly drying to our skin as moisture in the air surrounding us is depleted. A humidifier is a great way to retain moisture and there are many affordable options in the market. Try adding some essential oils for extra relaxation! Stay warm!
